On Tuesday, 16th December, Iago Pozo (the principal investigator of the SOSMurals project), together with Alberto Santos (also kwon as Ash), featured on Radio Vigo to talk about Juan Carlos Argüelle, better known as Muelle, who is regarded as the first Spanish graffiti artist. During the Movida madrileña period, his distinctive tag became widely recognised, spreading across Sapin and internationally.
Iago and Alberto discussed Muelle’s presence in Vigo, a city that still hosts two of his tags, as well as the research they are undertaking to increase awareness of his artistic contributions at the University of Vigo. We hope this initiative will help recognise street art as a part of our cultural heritage and safeguard Muelles’s Legacy for future generations.
Our sincere thanks to Radio Vigo for the invitation and, to all those who continue to support and show an interest in the project.
