Durante este año en el marco del proyecto SOS-MURALS, hemos desarrollado el proyecto SmArt (Estrategias sostenibles para la conservación del arte urbano) a través de la iniciativa del @cintecx CINTECX CHALLENGE2024. En este proyecto en colaboración con el grupo de investigación GTE hemos desarrollado un modelo de simulación del envejecimiento de pinturas empleadas en muralismo contemporáneo considerando su ubicación (altitud, cercanía al mar y presencia de contaminantes atmosféricos) y su orientación. Midiendo la variación del color de estas muestras cada 40 días y su temperatura superficial cada 10 minutos durante 7 meses hemos podido estudiar la relación entre el deterioro de las pinturas y factores ambientales como humedad, temperatura, orientación y gases contaminantes.

This year, as part of the SOS-MURALS project, we have developed the SmArt project (Sustainable Strategies for the Conservation of Urban Art) through the @cintecx CINTECX CHALLENGE2024 initiative. In this project, in collaboration with the GTE research group, we have developed a simulation model for the aging of paints used in contemporary muralism, considering their location (altitude, proximity to the sea, and presence of atmospheric pollutants) and orientation.
By measuring the color variation of these samples every 40 days and their surface temperature every 10 minutes over a period of 7 months, we have been able to study the relationship between paint deterioration and environmental factors such as humidity, temperature, orientation, and pollutant gases.
